Dominion City

Overview

Dominion City is a faith-based community organization. This project involved creating a dynamic visual identity and merchandise collection for their “Rule With Love” campaign. The design system is high-energy and modern, tailored to appeal to a younger, style-conscious demographic.

The Problem / Goal

The goal was to move away from traditional conservative religious aesthetics and create a brand experience that feels contemporary, energetic, and wearable. The merchandise needed to be stylish enough for everyday wear, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among members while effectively communicating the core message of “Ruling with Love.”

The Solution

I developed a bold, streetwear-inspired visual identity that combines symbolic iconography with trendy graphic patterns.

  • Logo Concept: The primary icon integrates a city skyline silhouette within a heart shape, visually representing the mandate to love and influence the city.

  • Color Palette: A high-contrast, electric palette featuring Deep Navy, Electric Blue, and Vibrant Magenta. This combination stands out and conveys energy, passion, and modernity.

  • Visual Language: Created a fluid, psychedelic-style wave pattern that serves as a key brand element. This texture adds motion and depth, making it perfect for “all-over print” merchandise.

  • Typography: Mixed a clean, modern sans-serif for the organization’s name with a stylized script for the “Rule With Love” slogan to add a human, approachable touch.

My Role

  • Merchandise Design: Designed a full suite of apparel and accessories, including bucket hats, baseball caps, graphic t-shirts (all-over prints), tote bags, and leather keychains.

  • Brand Asset Management: Created specific assets for different applications, such as enamel pins for leadership (“Pastor”) and branded stationery (notebooks).

  • Visual Identity System: Established the color theory and pattern usage to ensure all items felt part of a cohesive “drop” or collection.
