Green Voices CIC

Overview

Green Voices is a Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Wales, United Kingdom. The organization is dedicated to “Amplifying Diverse Voices in Climate Action,” specifically focusing on engaging ethnic minority communities in the fight against climate change.

The Problem / Goal

Climate action initiatives often lack diversity. The goal was to build a digital platform that feels inclusive, empowering, and educational. The brand needed to bridge the gap between underrepresented communities and the green economy, making “Eco-Skills” and “Climate Education” accessible and appealing rather than intimidating.

The Solution

I designed a vibrant, human-centric web experience that focuses on community, growth, and action.

  • Visual Strategy: Used a Vibrant Lime Green as the primary action color to symbolize fresh energy and nature, paired with dark overlays to make text pop.

  • Inclusive Imagery: heavily utilized photography featuring diverse groups of people working together (planting trees, learning) to visually reinforce the mission statement: “Every Voice Counts, Every Action Matters”.

  • Impact-Driven UI: Designed prominent “Impact Counters” (e.g., £20k Received, 100+ Trees Planted, 1,000+ People Reached) to immediately establish trust and show donors the tangible results of their support.

  • Service Architecture: Organized complex offerings into clear, clickable cards: Climate Education, Eco-Skills Training, Tree Planting, and Advocacy, making it easy for partners and volunteers to find their place.

My Role

  • Web Design & UI/UX: Built the full non-profit website, focusing on donor conversion (“Donate Now”) and volunteer acquisition (“Join the Movement”).

  • Brand Storytelling: Structured the narrative to highlight the founder’s vision and the organization’s Welsh roots.

  • Engagement Tools: Integrated functional elements like volunteer registration forms and newsletter subscriptions to build a community database.
